Our hubs are Linux single-board computers that run AI detection on camera streams in customers' homes and businesses, backed by LTE and battery power, with sirens, relays and alarm-panel I/O on the side. Someone has to make that hardware robust, repeatable and installable.
You will own the hardware from schematic to the field: carrier boards, power, LTE, enclosures and the test procedures that catch problems before a unit ships.
What you'll do
- Design and iterate hub hardware: carrier boards, power and battery backup, LTE, and GPIO for sirens, lamps, relays and alarm-panel interfaces.
- Bring up new boards on embedded Linux: device tree, GPIO, watchdogs, modems and thermal behaviour.
- Validate in the field: power cuts, heat, poor signal and warm reboots.
- Write production and assembly test procedures and build test jigs.
- Manage component suppliers, manufacturing partners and BOM cost.
- Work with the software team on firmware-adjacent problems and with installers on fitting and cabling.
What you bring
Essential
- Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Computer or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Three or more years designing and shipping electronics, including schematic capture and PCB layout (KiCad, Altium or similar).
- Hands-on embedded Linux experience on ARM single-board computers.
- Power electronics fundamentals: regulators, battery charging and protection.
- Comfortable with a soldering iron, an oscilloscope and a multimeter.
- Valid driver's licence; some site visits.
Advantageous, not essential
- ARM SoC platforms, LTE modems and AT commands, device-tree overlays, UPS and charger design, enclosure design.
- ICASA type approval and EMC testing experience.
