Delete your CleverResponder account

Last updated: October 26, 2026

This page explains how to delete your account in CleverResponder, the armed-response field app published by CleverCam (Pty) Ltd, and which of your data is deleted and which is kept. You can delete your account inside the App at any time, or ask us to do it by email.

For full detail on what the App collects and why, see the CleverResponder Privacy Policy.

Delete your account in the App

You do not need to contact anyone.

  1. Open CleverResponder and sign in.
  2. End your shift if you are on one. The App will not delete an account that is still on shift, so the control room stops showing you as available first.
  3. On the screen you see between shifts (it greets you with "Welcome, your name"), tap Delete account at the bottom, below Log out.
If no security company has added you to its team yet, the App shows the "Almost there" screen instead: tap Delete my account there.
  4. Read the confirmation and tap Delete account.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.

If the App says to leave your CleverAlert sites first: your CleverCam login is also connected to one or more sites in the CleverAlert app. Open CleverAlert, use More → Leave site on each site, then delete your account again.

No app? Ask us by email

If you no longer have the App or cannot sign in:

  1. Email hello@clevercam.co.za from the email address on your account.
  2. Use the subject line "Delete my CleverResponder account".
  3. If you sign in with a code from your control room rather than an email address, tell us your name and the security company you work for.

We check that the request comes from you, or from someone authorised to act for you, before we act on it. We delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email.

What is deleted

  • Your CleverCam login — your email address, password (stored only as a hash) and sign-in sessions. Your CleverCam login is shared by all CleverCam apps (CleverResponder, CleverAlert, CleverPro, CleverSales and CleverOps), so it is removed from all of them.
  • Your personal profile — the name, email address, phone number and profile picture on your CleverCam profile.
  • Your phone's registrations — push-notification tokens, so dispatch alerts stop reaching your phone, and "Continue as" sign-in links to other CleverCam apps.
  • Tickets you created in a CleverCam app.

If you sign in with a control-room code: that login belongs to a team position your security company set up. Deleting it removes the login and signs you out; the position and its records stay with your security company, and signing in with the code again creates a new login.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Your security company's records of your work — your shifts, the dispatches you responded to, on-scene evidence photos, QR scans and checklists, the positions recorded while you were on shift, your vehicle checks and driving-licence scans, and the team record your security company keeps for you (for example your name on the team, your unit, and your ID and licence details). These belong to your security company's operational and incident record, so they are kept after you delete your account, no longer linked to your login. They are kept for as long as your security company keeps its records; alarm incident records, which include the dispatches you responded to, are kept for at least 36 months, the period South African security-industry rules require. To have your team record removed, ask your security company, or email us and we will coordinate with them.
  • Sign-in audit entries — the time, email address and IP address of each sign-in — are deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • Database backups are kept for 7 days, so a copy of your deleted account can remain in an encrypted backup for up to 8 days.
  • Records the law requires us to keep (for example for tax or accounting) are kept for as long as the law requires, isolated from any other use.
